I’m here to help you read the parts of the Bible that are easy to skip or skim.
But also, if you like the “weird” books, you’re still very welcome here 😉
What This Space Is All About
Hey there, my name is Sam! I’m a writer and Bible teacher passionate about helping women deepen their faith and find hope through the storyline of Scripture.
Here’s what I know:
The Bible tells one big story.
Have you ever thought of it that way? The Bible is not a collection of fragmented stories—it is one continuous narrative. It’s the story of God creating the world—and it was good. Then comes humanity’s rebellion, breaking that perfect design. But the story doesn’t end there. In His grace, God sets in motion a plan to restore the goodness and beauty that was lost.
It’s one big rescue plan.
Once you begin to see your life through the lens of this story, you will find that your hope is secure in its resolution: God’s promise of restoration.
You might see brokenness all around you and within you, but you know how the story ends.
It was in college, when I received my bachelor’s in Biblical Studies, that I first fell in love with that story—the through-line of redemption running from Genesis to Revelation.
I’m here to help you read the parts of the story that are easy to overlook.
If all of Scripture is connected—as I believe that it is—we miss out when we skip (or skim) the challenging books or passages.
That’s why I wrote a verse-by-verse Bible study on the book of Nehemiah. This study was written to help women see how God’s redemptive story runs through all of Scripture—and how that story invites us to participate in His work of restoration in the world.
You can learn more about this study here: Nehemiah: Labor, Longing, & the Promise of Restoration.

As a true Bible nerd, I find an unusual amount of joy in seminary libraries.
…but that’s not all there is to me 😉
- I’m married to Aaron–the most people-oriented engineer you’ll ever meet (and my favorite person on the planet).
- I’m a social introvert (caught in the struggle of needing alone time yet always wanting to be around the people I love).
- I like to escape the noise of the city for the stillness of a long mountain trail whenever I can.
